BRADFORD TOP DOGS AT TRIOS

After 2 years we returned to Mansfield for our first event of the year the trios where 13 teams took part.

We opened with the doubles on Saturday with Bradford dominated the handicap with Trevor Dixon & Steve Skillicorn taking the honours with 1320, Trevor also took runners up spot teaming up with Brian Dixon to score 1259.

Sunday saw the trios with Bradford still bowling well to take the handicap with 2540 ahead of Manchester H/E A on 2257. The scratch went to East Yorkshire A with 2075 whilst Leeds A were runners up with 2007.

After such a dominate display It was no surprise that the overall handicap went to Bradford with a total pinfall of 6253 whilst Leeds A finished runners up on 5709. Scratch overall was taken by East Yorkshire A with 5184 just 5 pins ahead of Stagecoach Manchester H/E A on 5179.

The Individual Overall Handicap went to Trevor Dixon of Bradford with 2180 having

averaged 198 scratch over the 10 games. Runner up also from Bradford was Steve Skillicorn with 2112. Overall scratch went to Paul Dicken Stagecoach Manchester H/E A with 1971.

The Ladies overall handicap was won by Susan Szlavik of Leeds B with 1993 ahead of Karen Day of Brummies A. Scratch went to Gemma Morris of Stagecoach Manchester H/E B on 1449 ahead of Barbara Lusher of Black Country B with 1361 It was an excellent weekend with everyone glad to be back. we were also pleased in that, having decided to donate much of our raffle takings to the Ukranian refugee appeal, everyone was very supportive and with the addition of some donations we were able to donate £136.

We will be returning to Mansfield on 4th & 5th March to start again but before that our next tournament will be the Singles and Doubles at Norwich on 21st & 22nd May when we hope for a good entry.
