SHEFFIELD DOMINATE NEW LOOK TEAM EVENT

After cancelling last years event It was great to be back with a new format for our team event. Moving to a new venue at Altrincham the event was played on one day instead of two by reducing the number of games from four to three. With a better turnout of only 8 teams it proved to be a successful and enjoyable weekend.

The competition began with the handicap event which saw Sheffield come out on top with 2570 pins ahead of Bradford on 2475 pins and Stagecoach Manchester taking 3rd place with 2409

After a short break it was on to the scratch event and once again the honours went to Sheffield with 2284 pins beating Leeds into 2nd place by 156 pins , East Yorkshire A finished 3rd on 2073 pins .

It was no surprise that is was Sheffield who collected the overall trophy
totalling 4854 pins from Bradford 4536 with Stagecoach Manchester a further 57 pins behind in 3rd.

The Overall Individual scratch trophy went to Tom Gardiner of Sheffield with a total of 1334 pins just 27 pins ahead of Dale Dixon of Bradford The Ladies Individual scratch trophy, was retained by Sue Szlavik of Leeds with 1011 beating Gail Morris of Stagecoach Manchester by 36 pins.

We now look forward to the Trios at Mansfield on 2nd & 3rd March 2024 when early indication are that we should see a better entry. A further date for the diary is 18th & 19th May when we will again be at Namco Bowl, Norwich for the Singles and Doubles.
