At the start of our 50th year we returned to Mansfield for our first event of the year the trios we saw an increase on the number of teams from last year.

 

We opened with the doubles on Saturday with the handicap with Trevor and Dale Dixon seeing Bradford retaining the trophy with 1265 ahead of Paul Dicken and John Livsey of Stagecoach Manchester on 1212. The scratch trophy was taken by Mark and Paul Simpson of Sheffield 1161 from Jim Lumb and Ferenc Szlavik of Leeds.

 

Sunday saw the trios with Leeds bowling well to take the handicap with 2424 ahead of East Yorksire A on 2331. The scratch went to Sheffield with 2187 whilst Bradford were runners up with 2111.

 

The overall handicap went to Leeds with a total pinfall of 5835 whilst Bradford finished runners up on 5749. Scratch overall was taken by Sheffield with 4381 with East Yorkshire A with 5107.

 

The Individual Overall Handicap went to Dale Dixon of Bradford with 2128. Runner up was

Andy Eeles of East Yorkshire A with 2038. Overall scratch went to Mark Simpson of Sheffield averaging 207.5 for a score of 2075. Runner up also from Sheffield was Paul Simpson with 1868.

 

The Ladies overall handicap was won by Sam Shenton of Brummies A with 1920 ahead of Karen Day also of Brummies A. Scratch went to Sue Szlavik bowling for Black Country on 1526 ahead of Sandra Tyler of East Yorkshire B with 1157

 

It was once again an excellent weekend with everyone glad to be back. We will be returning to Mansfield on 1st & 2nd March 2025. Our next tournament will be the Singles and Doubles at Norwich on 18th

& 19th May when we hope for a good entry.
