Ten Pin Bowling - Trios - March 2025
At the start of our 51st year we returned to Mansfield for our first event of the year the trios where we saw an increase on the number of teams from last yea rand a lot of new faces
We opened with the doubles on Saturday with the handicap with Stuart and Gemma Morris of Manchester A taking the trophy with 1239 ahead of Trevor and Brian Dixon of Bradford on 1200. The scratch trophy was also taken by Manchester A with Stuart Morris teaming up with John Livsey to record 1107 with Jim Lumb and Sue Szlavik of Leeds runners up on 1054
Sunday saw the trios which had been reduced from 4 games to 3 with Manchester A again bowling well to take the handicap with 1736 ahead of Leeds on 1638. The scratch went to Bradford with 1539 whilst East Yorkshire A were runners up with 1299.
The overall handicap went of course to Manchester A with a total pinfall of 5174 whilst East Yorkshire A finished runners up on 4957. Scratch overall was taken by Bradford with 4669 from Leeds with 4382.
The Individual Overall Handicap not surprisingly went to Stuart Morris of Manchester A who bowled consistently to record 1874 an average of 195 scratch . Runner up was Brian Dixon of Bradford of with 1828. Overall scratch went to Andy Parker of East Yorkshire with a score of 1722 ahead of Trevor Dixon of Bradford on 1527
The Ladies overall handicap was won once again by Sue Szlavik of Leeds on 1759 ahead of Sam Shenton from Brummies B with 1689. Completing a good day for Manchester A the scratch overall went to Gemma Morris with 1385 with Barbara usher of Black Country A on 1198
It was once again an excellent weekend with everyone glad to be back a special mention must go to all our new members from Black Country who certainly enjoyed themselves we hope to see you at future events. We will be returning to Mansfield in 2026. Our next tournament will be the Singles and Doubles at a new venue in Shipley on 17th & 18th May when we hope for a good entry.
